The Haramosh La Trek is a spectacular high-altitude adventure into the remote mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan. The trek takes you through the beautiful Haramosh Valley and across Haramosh La, a dramatic mountain pass surrounded by some of the most impressive landscapes of the Karakoram.
The route combines alpine meadows, glaciers, rugged mountain valleys and high-altitude passes, offering an unforgettable experience for trekkers looking to explore a less-travelled part of northern Pakistan.
With dramatic views of Haramosh Peak, Laila Peak of Haramosh and the surrounding Karakoram ranges, this is a challenging trek designed for adventurous travellers with good fitness and previous trekking experience.
Rush Lake is one of the most spectacular high-altitude lakes in the Karakoram, located at approximately 4,694 metres above sea level in the Nagar Valley. The trek begins from Hoper (Hopar) and takes you through remote mountain landscapes, glacier sections, alpine meadows and increasingly rugged terrain before reaching the lake.
The journey offers magnificent views of the surrounding Karakoram, including Spantik (Golden Peak), Malubiting, Diran and Rakaposhi. For experienced and well-prepared trekkers, an optional ascent of Rush Peak at around 5,100 metres provides an even wider mountain panorama.
Unlike the more accessible treks of northern Pakistan, Rush Lake requires several days of high-altitude walking and camping. The combination of steep ascents, glacier crossings and altitude makes it a rewarding adventure for trekkers looking for a genuine Karakoram experience.

The highlight of the trek is crossing Haramosh La, a high mountain pass surrounded by spectacular peaks, glaciers and deep valleys.
As you gain altitude, the landscape gradually changes from green alpine surroundings to rugged high-mountain terrain. The approach to the pass requires sustained climbing and careful walking over uneven terrain.
From the higher sections, trekkers can experience panoramic views of the surrounding Karakoram landscape before beginning the descent into the valley.
The exact trekking route, camping locations and itinerary may vary depending on weather, trail conditions, glacier conditions, local circumstances and the experience of the trekking group.
Haramosh La is a remote high-altitude mountain pass. The trek should therefore be approached with proper preparation, suitable equipment and experienced local trekking support.
This is a trekking expedition and does not include technical climbing of Haramosh Peak or any other surrounding mountain.

Flexibility is an important part of trekking in remote mountain regions.
A strong level of fitness is recommended for the Haramosh La Trek.
Trekkers should be comfortable walking for several hours on consecutive days and handling steep climbs, descents and uneven mountain terrain.
Preparation should include regular hiking or walking, cardiovascular training and strength exercises before the trek.
Previous experience with high-altitude trekking is strongly recommended.
Altitude can affect individuals differently. Our trekking team will monitor the group’s condition and the itinerary may be adjusted when necessary.
The journey to the Haramosh Valley involves mountain roads, and travel times can vary according to road and weather conditions.
Domestic flights between Islamabad and Skardu are also weather-dependent.
Mountain weather can change rapidly, particularly at higher elevations. Snow, rain, strong winds or poor visibility may require changes to the planned itinerary.
For this reason, the itinerary should be considered flexible and sufficient contingency time is recommended.

Mountain conditions, weather, health, altitude, physical condition and other factors may prevent a participant or the entire team from reaching the planned summit.
Participants must be prepared to turn back at any point if continuing becomes unsafe.
Failure to reach a summit or complete the planned itinerary does not automatically entitle a participant to a refund.
