Echoes of Ancient Civilisations

A Journey Through 5,000 Years of Pakistan's History

From the ancient cities of the Indus Valley to the Buddhist centres of Gandhara and the centuries-old forts, rock carvings and settlements of the northern mountains, Pakistan preserves the traces of some of Asia’s most fascinating civilisations.

Travel with us from the archaeological ruins of Taxila and the Gandhara region towards the ancient mountain routes of Gilgit-Baltistan, discovering the people, cultures, religions and kingdoms that shaped this remarkable land.

This is a journey through history — from ancient cities and Buddhist monasteries to mountain forts and living cultural traditions.

Gilgit-Baltistan is one of Pakistan’s most spectacular travel destinations, home to some of the world’s highest mountains, beautiful valleys, alpine lakes and centuries-old cultural heritage.

But you don’t have to be a mountaineer or trekker to experience it.

Many of the region’s most famous places can be enjoyed through comfortable road journeys, scenic viewpoints, short walks, cultural visits and relaxed family holidays. From the orchards and historic forts of Hunza to the lakes and deserts of Skardu, every valley has its own character.
